Mac OS X keyboard shortcuts December 31, 2008

Some short key i cannot live without …

General (Common among most applications)

  • copy = ⌘ + c
  • paste = ⌘ + v
  • key-in language swap = ⌘ + space bar (e.g. Thai-English)
  • close application = ⌘ + q
  • close window= ⌘ + w

Browsing (Opera browser)

  • New blank tab = ⌘ + t
  • Close tab = ⌘ + w
  • Open link in new tab = ⌘ + click
  • Open link in new tab (background) = ⌘ + shift + click

In Windows, mostly we use Ctrl + key to send short cut command. In Mac OSX, besisde Ctrl, the command key ⌘ is also used for short cut command. Still need more time to learn …
